On the heels of his second collaboration with beauty powerhouse, Lancôme we sat down with designer and fellow beauty-obsessive, Jason Wu to talk creativity, color and of course, makeup.
Tips From The Man Behind The Makeup
Get The Runway Look For Less
“Translating my love of color into a collection of makeup of Lancome felt really natural -- all my runway shows feature a unique beauty look. The idea was not only to provide ready-to-wear apparel, but an entire head-to-toe look, including the makeup. I love the idea of creating these special items that feel super expensive and luxurious but are quite accessible for women who may not be our ready-to-wear customer quite yet”
Score #Shelfie-Worthy Palettes
“In a more literal sense, the midnight floral pattern from the pre-fall collection, is on all the packaging. We were also inspired by rich, fall tones -- the floral perfectly reflects the feminine DNA of the brand, too. There are so many colors within the print, that we were able to extract little bits of it and put them into palettes.”
Take A Break From Basic Black Liner
“Last time, we did a navy mascara which I also used on the runway for fall, and this time, a navy liquid liner. The unexpected pop of color gives you a real point of difference. It’s an easy way of wearing fashion without doing a head-to-toe runway look.”
Try A Freshly-Picked Eye Makeup Idea
“The floral chiffon dress paired with the disco palette really brings out the green in the fabric. And green is a signature color for me, this particular shade feels so quintessentially “Wu”.”

Perk Up With The Prettiest Pinks
“Don't leave home without good skin and a pop of color, whether it’s a nail, lip, or an eye.”
