How To Wear Fall’s Best Beauty Trends In Real Life

by Stephanie Montes

We love the hair and makeup looks that came down the runways this season, but re-creating them at home can be intimidating (not to mention time consuming). Here, we take 5 of our favorites for a spin, to help you pull off the trends without hiring your own backstage beauty team.

Berry Lips

This fall, look for a lipstick in a berry hue—it's a new spin on a classic shade and works well with all skin tones. As seen on the runways, this trend works better when you skip the lip liner altogether and dab the lipstick on with your finger. The undone, feathered edge gives your look a cool-girl twist.

Under-Eye Shadow

Gone are the days where wearing eye shadow on your lids is your only option. Opt for a bold pop of color (or if you're feeling daring, a swipe of cool white) along the lower lash line. Keep the rest of your makeup neutral to really make eyes pop.

Sleek Ponytail

Give your boring ponytail some new life this fall. Create a deep side part and wrap a section of hair around the base for a sleek update to the lazy-day hairstyle.

Overly Blushed Cheeks

Piling on the blush can be intimidating but the final result always looks feminine and beautiful. Pull of the look by applying fuchsia along the cheekbones. Too much on the apples of your cheeks will make you look flushed (in a bad way).

Shaggy Bangs

Don't have bangs already? Get them while they're hot off the runways. Ask your stylist for a look that's messy and low-maintenance. They always look better with a touch of undone polish.

Graphic Eye Shadow

Get graphic with your eye shadow this season. An eye shadow pencil is the perfect tool for drawing a precise design on your lids. We prefer a curved line on our crease in a neutral shade.
