by Stephanie Montes

The holiday season is all about incorporating shine and shimmer into your makeup routine and when mixed with rich jewel-tones, the outcome is nothing short of perfection. We teamed up with French beauty brand Chantecaille to come up with two gorgeous looks that are easy to achieve and beautiful enough to wear past the New Year. Get Chantecaille Global Makeup Artist, Fernando Cadavid’s steps for creating the looks and follow his insider tips that are sure to make you look like royalty. Now all you have to do is practice your princess wave–elbow, elbow, wrist, wrist.

Purple Reign

After priming the lid, apply a soft gray shadow from lash line to brow bone. Tightline the entire eye with a black waterproof pencil.

Starting 3 quarters of the way in, blend a shimmery purple shadow up and into the crease of your lid and below the lower lash line extending past the outer corner to create a subtle wing. Finish with a lengthening mascara in black.

Expert tip: Apply foundation after finishing the eyes to clean up any shadow that has made its way onto the cheeks. Keep foundation soft and matte to complement the shimmery eye. Finish with a pale gloss.

Modern Monarch

Start with a fresh, dewy foundation then sweep a highlighter on the bridge of the nose, cheekbones and chin.

Prep the entire lid with a brightening pen and swipe a lightly gold eye shadow from lash line to brow bone. Above the upper lash line, apply an olive eyeliner and soften it with a green eye shadow and an angled brush, working it upwards into the crease. Expert tip: Get a creamy, metallic finish by wetting the eye shadow before applying.

Apply a thin stroke of black liquid liner above the upper lash line before tightlining with a black kohl pencil. Curl lashes and apply a black mascara and finish with a sheer pink gloss.
