Let’s face it, we don’t always have time to get ready in the morning (or whenever it’s time to get up and go somewhere). With, let’s say, only five, ten or 15 minutes to spare, our hair doesn’t always need to be done in the same, simple hairstyle. There are a variety of ‘dos that can be done within a quick timespan that won’t sacrifice the rest of your routine. We’ve broken them down in categories from quickest to longest to accomplish—but nothing takes longer than 15 minutes. Let’s get to styling!
Loose Ponytail
Pick up your strands into a loose ponytail for a relaxed vibe. Add a pop of red lipstick for a more elevated look if you want to dress it up.
Statement Headband
Detangle your strands in their natural state and pop on a statement headband. Whether it's a thick black band (á la Kim K) or a bold pattern, it adds edge to loose hair.
Wet Look
If you've been dying to try the wet-hair trend, you don't have to do much to give it a test run. In just a few minutes, you can brush your hair back with mousse and let it sit.
Messy Topknot
A topknot will never go out of style, and the best thing about them is that they don't have to be perfect. Pull your strands back into a messy ponytail and pin them into a bun. Be sure to style any strands up front as you please.
Half Up, Half Down
Another classic that we love is a half updo. Pick up half of your hair into a ponytail and style the other half as desired. If you have bangs you can play around with them as well, or leave some strands out up front for a low-maintenance approach.
Beach Waves
Everyone loves a great set of beach waves. Luckily, they don't take too long to style if your hair is already dry. Just take a curling iron with a large barrel if necessary to curl very flat areas, and then follow with sea salt spray.
An intricate braid is another hairstyle that can thankfully be done in a short amount of time. Weave a fishtail style braid underneath your natural texture for a more loose braid, or go for a tighter plait from the roots.
Bubble Ponytail
Statement ponytails are a great way to upgrade the classic hairstyle. This bubble style can be done in just 15 minutes once your hair is styled into a sleek ponytail. Take individual hair ties to form as many bubbles as you'd like.
Retro Curls
With a curling wand, create detailed spirals on separate sections of your hair. Starting from the back to the front, this should take you about 15 minutes, if you use a one-inch barrel (and depending on the amount of hair you have).
