Using The Wrong Brush

If you use the same brush for everything from teasing to detangling wet hair, it's time to invest in a new one. Pick up a brush with flexible bristles that is gentle on wet hair to prevent breakage and split ends.

Washing Too Often

Washing your hair too often can weaken the shaft of your hair, causing it to split or break. Learn to love unwashed second and even third day hair. Remember to break out the dry shampoo and hair perfume and no one will know the difference.

Rubbing Wet Hair With A Towel

Rubbing hair with a towel can be too rough on the cuticle, which causes locks to look frizzy and potentially lead to more breakage. Instead, blot your hair with a towel to remove moisture but never rub. A super-absorbent towel could be a good investment for those with thick hair.

Not Using Protection

Just like the sun can damage your skin, it can do the same to your hair. Prevent your hair from the elements with a floppy hat, headscarf or a CC cream that protects your locks from harmful UV rays.

Not Trimming Your Hair

We're guilty of not getting a trim in the effort to make it grow longer, faster. As it turns out, that's the worst thing we can do. Not trimming the split ends results in dramatic splits and brittle hair.
