3 Gorge Festival-Inspired Makeup Looks

by Stephanie Montes

Now that music festival-season is officially underway, we’re embracing the opportunity to have a little summer fun with our beauty routine. But as anyone who has ever attended an all-day grooving extravaganza knows, it’s not always easy to look good in the heat. These makeup looks are beautiful but most importantly, they’re easy to do when you’re away from home and want to keep things simple but impactful. Get our tips for maximizing your beauty products so you never have to look like a hot mess—literally.

A Day At The Festival

If you're planning on dancing the day away in the sun, do not go heavy-handed with your makeup–it will likely just melt off anyway. Instead, apply a mattifying primer to keep oils at bay and smooth out your complexion. Apply bronzer on the hallows of your cheeks and on your eyelids. Use a brown liner to create faux freckles on the bridge of the nose and across the cheeks. Finish off the look with a bold lipstick that is also moisturizing.

Afternoon Pool Party

Skipping the music to party with friends around the pool? Choose products that make touch-ups a breeze. Apply a light BB cream to achieve that no-makeup-makeup look and choose a pink stain that you can use on your lips, cheeks and lids–this keeps your makeup monochromatic and fresh looking. A few swipes of waterproof mascara and a brow pencil are all you need to complete the look.

Post-Concert Dinner

A night out after hours of boogying requires a bold look, but don't spend all day creating it. Use a foundation stick to cover any blemishes or dark circles (it's likely been a long day), blending it with your fingers. Swipe a brown shadow stick on the entire lid and below the lower lash line. Make your eyes pop by applying black liner on the waterline and above the upper lash line. Finish with a double-duty lip and cheek stick.
