We’ve seen our fair share of graphic black liner and pale, pretty complexions at the fall 2014 shows thus far but this particular trend – a new take on smoky eye makeup using plum and burgundy shades – is the one that we keep coming back to in our minds. With glowy, healthy skin and high-shine hair the look is luminous and edgy at the same time. Check it out:
At Rachel Comey, Nars makeup artist Hannah Murray created a smoky plum eye makeup look using a deep aubergine lip crayon called Train Bleu and a mix of black and purple-hued shadows on top and bottom lids .

At Helmut Lang, lipstick was also used on eyelids, this time a rich burgundy shade was applied from the crease to the lash line followed by a pressed powder to set the look. TZR Tip: the ultra-gorgeous lipstick is brand new for fall 2014 and called Deborah Audacious. Keep an eye out!

And at Marissa Webb, Maybelline artists used a purple-hued shadow from the brand’s Natural Smokes quad along with black mascara for added drama and definition. The use of a warm pink blush on cheeks created a monochromatic effect that we really loved.
