Fall 2014 Hair And Makeup Trends We Can’t Wait To Try

Here at TZR headquarters, we’ve barely emerged from the haze of L.A.’s infamous June gloom and already, images of fall 2014 runway beauty looks are flooding our minds. Don’t get us wrong, we’re all about summer’s offering of sherbet lips, technicolor nails and tousled beach waves. In contrast, next season’s beauty moments rely heavily on retro elements and muted shades.

Herewith, 7 fall beauty trends we plucked straight off the runways and the tools you’ll need to try them out now.

The Future Is Looking Bright!

The Exaggerated Cat-Eye

Dolce & Gabbana, Herve Keger by Max Azria and Libertine all sent sultry-eyed glamazons down the runway. Keep the rest of your face minimal for day and add a slick of red to the lips for night.

Try The Liner Look:

60's-Inspired Hair

Deep side parts, side swept bangs and subtle teasing lent a decidedly retro feel to the ladies at Gucci, Band of Outsiders and Erin Fetherston.

Do The Retro 'Do:

Chill Nail Art

The pretty manis at Tibi, Zimmerman and DKNY were proof that nail art is nowhere near over. For fall, the designs are simplistic and significantly easier to achieve at home.

Try No-Frills Nails:

Piled-On Eye Shadow

The eye makeup at Rodarte, Nicole Miller and Rachel Comey was dramatic, moody and extended way beyond the upper lids. To get the dreamy effect, use a medium sized shadow brush to liberally dab pigment below the lower lash-line.

Get Shady:

No Makeup Makeup

The beauty word at Narcisco Rodriguez, J.W. Anderson and 3.1 Phillip Lim was clearly 'less is more'. Definitely a good thing since natural, luminous skin is a good look on everyone.

Dare To Go Bare:

Unexpected Pops Of Color

At Chanel, Creatures of the Wind and Altuzarra splashes of color came courtesy of bright liner and shadow.

Give Bright Hues A Shot:

Badass Braids

At Marc by Marc Jacobs and Creatures of the Wind, pairs of skinny plaits and sweet forehead-grazing braids echoed our schoolgirl days, in the best possible way. Pro tip: run some product through the length of your hair to help it hold the braid.
