There’s no denying that the fragrance industry is booming right now. From cheeky celebrity scents to influencer-founded brands, the options are truly limitless. Still, there’s something magical about the originators. Estée Lauder didn’t just lay the groundwork for beauty to flourish; they shaped the industry, creating signature fragrances that would stand the test of time.

For decades, their scents have evoked the essence of femininity. They’ve stood on vanities in gorgeous bottles, enticing young women with a whirlwind of tantalizing aromas. Whether a bouquet of intoxicating, rare florals or a heady mix of exotic spices and warm musks, the goal has always been to capture a woman’s multifaceted charm: her sleek style, confidence, passion, beauty, and everything in between. The newest Estée Lauder fragrance, Glimmer, is no exception. Keep reading to learn more about the legacy beauty brand’s latest perfume launch.

A Delicate Blend

Following a long list of legendary scents is no easy feat. But the noses behind Glimmer knew from the start this wouldn’t be just another pretty perfume — it would be an olfactory expression of optimism, designed to make you feel as good as it smells. Glimmer is a rare fragrance crafted by a community of master perfumers, bringing together some of the industry’s most accomplished noses to create a scent that leaves an uplifting, lasting impression. According to master perfumer Dominique Ropion, "Glimmer doesn’t simply linger; it radiates, leaving a trail of magnetic connection.”

The scent takes a distinguishable approach to the delectable gourmands that have dominated the perfume world. Its macaron rose accord blends indulgent dessert notes with the most classic floral note. Then there is the "shimmering patchouli" accord, which adds flashes of clean aromas to the fragrance. The base is a brand-exclusive amber embrace accord developed specifically for this juice, and gives way to comforting scents of resin and musk. To an ordinary nose, these accords may seem too different to be in sync. Sweet, earthy, and warm notes are typically the kings of their own domain. However, the combination is what makes Glimmer shine. It’s a delicate balance, or better, an alchemy of classics reimagined, turning the “ordinary into the unforgettable,” says Ropion.

A Sparkling Campaign Star

The Estée team tapped actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld to lead the campaign for her multi-generational, mass appeal. Steinfeld has dazzled audiences for over a decade now, and her joy is contagious in the same way Glimmer's optimism is, making her the perfect embodiment of the fragrance, not just its face. "She is confident, has a contagious sense of joy, and understands the power of connecting with her community," says Justin Boxford, Estée Lauder's Global Brand President, adding that her authenticity and creativity have inspired audiences across generations.

If you've grown up with Steinfeld, you know her talent is far from linear. For the Glimmer campaign, she showcases her trifecta of skills, covering Nina Simone's "Feeling Good" and delivering words of inspiration in her signature hazy tone. "A glimmer is a spark of joy that spreads. It ripples out to radiate joy to others," she says while wandering in soft sweaters and lapping up the last moments of golden hour.

"Fragrance has an incredible ability to tell a story without words, evoke emotion, and create memories that stay with you," says Steinfeld. Glimmer was created to be more than a fragrance. It's designed to inspire optimism, foster connection, and leave a joyous impression — one that starts the moment you see the bottle.

Bottling Joy

Which brings us to the bottle itself. Perfume bottles are known objects of beauty, but Glimmer's vessel is a work of art. It features sculpted semicircles and a round gold cap that sits atop the bottle like a glowing sun. Each bottle reflects light, shining on its own and creating a rippling effect when placed together. The design echoes Glimmer's uplifting messaging, transforming "small moments of joy, hope, and connection into a sensorial experience."

Like the scent, it was designed to leave a lasting impression. But the dedication to eliciting the joys of womanhood remains the same. Estée Lauder famously said that "women like to feel beautiful, pampered, and loved" when speaking about her perfumes. Glimmer evokes all three with magnetic energy.
