by Stephanie Montes

Even the most savvy among us have difficulty with certain beauty techniques at some point or another. Do you have trouble achieving the perfect cat eye or painting your nails without making a mess or getting second-day hair to look decent? Us too. As for never being able to decide on an outfit, well, that’s an issue you’re going to have to work out on your own.

You Can Hack It!

The Perfect Cat Eye

Place a credit card (or anything with a straight edge) at the outer corner of your eye and line it up to the end of your eyebrow. Hold it in place while you contour your lids with shadow. When you're done, you'll have a perfectly straight, symmetrical template to trace with your liner for a flawless cat eye. Boom.

Second-Day-Hair Solution

After working a dry shampoo into your roots, spray perfume onto a brush before smoothing out any tangles to ensure your hair looks and smells better than it did yesterday.

Paint Your Nails–Not Your Fingers

Have trouble coloring within the lines? Apply Elmer's glue around all nails and let dry before applying your polish. Peel off dried glue to reveal a flawless manicure.

A Fuller Pout

Adding a drop of peppermint oil or a pinch of cinnamon in your lip balm gives you an instant plump.

Say No To Static

Dryer sheets have always worked to remove static from your clothes. Did you know they do the same for stray strands? Run a sheet over the top of your hair to instantly calm static. Finish with a shine-enhancing pomade.

Open With Ease

Can't open your favorite nail polish bottle? We got you. Coat the barrel with Vaseline before putting the cap back on and you won't have that problem again.

Skip The False Lashes

Don't have time to apply false lashes? Who does? Lightly dab baby powder onto lashes in between coats of mascara to achieve a dramatic flutter.

Dry Hair In A Flash

If you use a towel to dry your hair, you're doing it all wrong. A T-shirt is way more absorbent and gets the job done in less time. Seriously.

Make Sure Your Mani Is Smooth

Store nail polish in the fridge, and you'll never have to worry about air bubbles ever again. We like bubbles in our Champagne, not our polish.
