6 Must-See 2019 Golden Globes Looks Our Editors Are Trying For Themselves STAT

When it's all said and done, the 2019 Golden Globes Awards were a fantastic way to start the week — and the year. Aside from built-in entertainment courtesy of hosts Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh, and the well-deserved wins of Regina King for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for If Beale Street Could Talk and for A Star Is Born's win for Best Original Song, "Shallow," the 2019 Golden Globes beauty looks our editors loved were just as inspirational. Camilla Belle wore a smoky green eye that I can't shut up about (just ask my group chat), and Lupita Nyong'o's blue eyeliner makes me want to overhaul my entire vanity for the sake of adding color to all of my beauty looks. That's not to say that Julia Roberts' soft waves weren't a highlight. I was just blinded by Gemma Chan's actual highlight (Clé de Peau Beauté Luminizing Face Enhancer in #17 Lavender) done by Gemma Chan.

The true beauty behind some of the Globes' best looks is the fact that they work on the red carpet... and off of the carpet, too. And even if they're a little bit much for, say, your Tuesday staff meeting — who cares? It's 2019. Why not be as extra as a nominee or a presenter?

Ahead, see the hair, makeup, and manicures that TZR's editors plan on trying this month... plus a couple of tips from the artists who created them, so you can look and feel like the star you are.

"Charlize Theron never fails to impress, and while I loved her simple makeup, it was her hair that really sealed the deal for me. Hairstylist Adir Abergel credited GDH and Virtue Labs for the sleek, half-up look." — Lauren Caruso, Managing Editor

Lupita Nyong'o

"A red carpet is the perfect opportunity to take a chance on a statement look, which is why I’m so enamored with Lupita’s look. Matching her eye makeup to a dress was the first win in this look. Her rich berry lip was the second. It’s a combination that feels so glamorous." — Aemilia Madden, Senior Fashion Editor

Gemma Chan

"I don't know if it was the effortless chignon, bold red lip, or gorgeous glow, but Gemma Chan won me over tonight with her stunning look. I'm definitely channeling this for my next fancy affair!" — Angela Melero, Senior West Coast Editor

Julia Roberts

"I've always loved Julia Roberts' beauty looks, and this one is no exception. Everything from her hair to her makeup is beautiful and classic, and pairs perfectly with her equally simple outfit. Honestly, I'd wear this on an evening out, too, which I personally can't usually say about most looks at awards shows since I tend to go for more minimalist makeup." — Anna Buckman, Shopping News Editor

Camilla Belle

"On a carpet filled with understated looks and blink-and-miss-it details, Camilla Belle stood out in a very good — and very green — way. Hung Vanngo used Chanel’s Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow in 306 Spendeur et Audace and Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner in 938 Mare-Chiaro for a smoky green eye that was unapologetically bold." — Khalea Underwood, Beauty Editor

Caitriona Balfe

"It’s no secret that hair accessories are everywhere right now, and Caitriona Balfe just proved they’re red carpet-approved, too. The actor’s sleek middle part and glitzy hair slides felt equal parts retro and modern, and I can’t wait to recreate the look myself." — Ruby Buddemeyer, Associate Celebrity Editor
