10 Nail Polish Ideas To Copy Right Now

In need of some manicure inspiration? Here are a handful of new designs to give your weekly mani that extra boost it needs, straight from the Fall 2014 runways.

Manicure Idea: Color Blocked

Butter London's Katie Jane Hughes opted for half-moons AND french-tips at Tadashi Shoji, creating a color-block effect. Applying a bronze polish in all the right places, only required a clean topcoat to complete the look.

Manicure Idea: Asymmetric Angles

Naomi Yasuda for Essie filled opening Ceremony’s line-up with asymmetrical nail designs. After applying a base coat to all nails, apply a taupe polish to the pinky on the left hand and ring finger on the right hand. Next, apply polish at a diagonal angle across each additional nail. Manicure Idea: Golden Girl

Manicure Idea: Achromatic

When in doubt, just go with classic black and white. But for some extra oomph, take notes from nail guru Jin Soon Choi, of JINsoon, who created a modern interpretation of the classic French manicure. Manicure Idea: Colored Cuticles

Michelle Saunders for Essie created an "inverted French manicure" for DKNY. To get this design, begin with a sheer base coat followed by a single coat of white lacquer. Manicure Idea: Next-To-Nothing Nude

Manicure Idea: 30/70

Michelle Saunders for Essie created a three quarter look for Nanette Lepore by applying a berry-colored nail polish on the entire nail and a pewter shade over the first layer, but only one third of the right side of the nail. Simple but impactful.

Manicure Idea: Clean White

Michelle Saunders for Essie kept it clean and simple for DKNY. After applying a base coat, apply two layers of white nail polish and a matte topcoat to complete the look.

Manicure Idea: Barely-There Dots

Manicure Idea: Embellished

Michelle Saunders for Essie created a luxe feel by embellishing both ring fingers at Jenny Packham. Begin by applying a subtle natural pink lacquer on all nails. Then, on ring fingers only, use small nail art brush and a ruby polish to create a circle with smaller circles around it in the middle of the nail to create a scalloped edge. Continue by dabbing gold colored dots around the center circle. Finish the look by creating rays around the center with a blue glitter polish. Photo: Courtesy of Essie
