Rodarte's Spring Lookbook Is A Fantastical Daydream (With Some *Very* Unexpected Stars)

Aside from igniting our senses (and closets) with lush fabrics and vivid hues, one of the most magical parts of fashion is its ability to serve as a great escape. Each label, with its own identity, color palette and unique creative depiction, serves a sweet respite — a world apart from the oft humdrum reality of everyday life. The fanciful world of Rodarte is a prime example, with its whimsical imagery and offbeat tailoring carving a space that's unique to the New York-based brand. Rodarte's Spring 2020 lookbook took its art-inspired aesthetic a step further, creating a whimsical world that might temporarily convince you you've stepped into a Renaissance painting.

Polka dot ruffles, pastel tulle, and sequin-adorned blazers live up to sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy's eccentric spirit, and the delicate hair and makeup falls in line with beguiling runway looks the designers are known for. From extravagant flower crowns to face-shielding veils, Rodarte always makes a splash that's dripping in romance, the lookbook being the fashion house's latest addition to its swoon-worthy arsenal. A star-studded lineup of models graces the spread, including industry mainstays like Kirsten Dunst and Gabrielle Union, as well as budding fashion icons such as Rowan Blanchard and Euphoria's Alexis Demie.

Perfectly coifed updos, sleek cornrows, and blunt bobs can be found across the dreamy pictorial, with each hairstyle decorated in pearls of varying sizes. For the most part, makeup is kept to a bare minimum, save for a few pastel-toned eyelids, allowing the stunningly structured hairstyling and voluminous tailoring to shine bright.

From Lili Reinhart's furry pup to the lush backdrop featuring greek statues, cupcakes, and hydrangeas, it's basically a star-studded daydream we can all get behind. Though this leisurely fairyland is reserved for storybooks and fashion magazines, a few key products can help bring its ornate quality into the real world.

Pearls have been a favorite among designers, makeup artists and celebrity hairstylists this year, and the oceanic stone doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon. To channel the beguiling spread in your own beauty routine, shop The Zoe Report's selection of hair adornments and eyeshadows, ahead.
