7 Buzzy Skin-Care Launches You'll Want This Spring

By Deanna Pai

Most elements of my beauty routine are relatively low maintenance: I consider my hair done after a spritz or two of curl spray, and my makeup is usually good to go with foundation and a few swipes of eyebrow gel. The one big exception, however, is skin care. I’m more than happy to carve out a block of time for that regimen.

But my appreciation for these products goes beyond taking care of my complexion. There’s always something new and buzzworthy happening in the world of skin care. A new breakthrough — be it a fresh ingredient with jaw-dropping clinical results, an intriguing delivery system, or a never-before-seen texture — seems to crop up every other week. And when it does, I waste no time taking it for a test drive. As a beauty writer, it’s part of the job, but as a skin-care devotee, it’s also my favorite hobby. And with that, I can’t wait to get these new launches in my lineup. In partnership with Sephora, here’s what makes them worth clearing out space on the shelf.

1 | Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask

This two-part formula — consisting of skin-strengthening Damask rose extract and hydrating hyaluronic acid — ensures a continuous infusion of moisture all night long. It may be a two-step sleeping mask, but the extra step is well worth it when I see how soft and glowing my skin looks in the morning.

Ideal for: anyone dealing with dryness

2 | Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream

The headliner of this face cream (which was inspired by the cult favorite Luminous Dewy Skin Mist) is Japanese purple rice. The ingredient is packed with anthocyanin, a powerful antioxidant that helps repair and protect skin against stress, pollution, and UV damage — all of which my skin is subjected to on a daily basis.

Ideal for: dull, dry skin

3 | OLEHENRIKSEN Banana Bright Face Primer

This multi-tasking primer has it all: antioxidants to repair and protect, vitamin C to brighten, pigments (inspired by banana powder, a staple in pros' makeup kits) that subtly illuminate skin, and the ability to give my foundation unmatched staying power. (It also pairs well with the already popular Banana Bright Eye Crème.)

Ideal for: dullness

4 | Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S Deep Hydration Moisturizer

Winter might be over, but my skin is still feeling and looking dry. That’s why I’ll be reaching for this intensive moisturizer, which has squalene to nourish and antioxidant-rich grape seed polyphenols to protect.

Ideal for: anyone (especially drier types)

5 | Dr. Jart+ Focuspot Micro Tip Patch - Blemish & Dark Spot

Each one of these small patches contains micro tips that melt over the course of two hours, mimicking the effects of microneedling and infusing the skin with active ingredients. The blemish set targets breakouts with vitamin B3, while the set for dark spots fades discoloration with vitamin C.

Ideal for: blemishes & breakouts

6 | Glow Recipe Pineapple-C Brightening Serum

Glow Recipe nearly broke the internet (or at least Sephora) with its debut Watermelon collection. So there’s no question this serum will be an equally loved addition to the family. It sinks in fast to deliver a blend of vitamin C, alpha hydroxy acids, and pineapple enzymes to brighten and smooth, while hyaluronic acid keeps moisture levels high and skin soft.

Ideal for: brightening

7 | Sol De Janeiro Glowmotions

After months of being layered in heavy coats, these bronzing oils — which leave a healthy-looking sheen — will make it a little easier to bare my skin. They contain a luxe blend of acai and coconut oils. Plus, their warm, gourmand scent is reminiscent of vacation.

Ideal for: shimmering and shining
