Stella McCartney Debuted Her Groundbreaking New Line At This Iconic Venue

by Samantha McDonald

Stella McCartney has her roots in one of music’s biggest acts, so it was only fitting that she launched her first menswear collection at a place that’s both historic and familiar to her family name: Abbey Road Studios. The designer’s father Paul McCartney (a.k.a. the Walrus, a.k.a. one-fourth of English rock legend The Beatles) made the location his recording venue in the 1960s and even served as her inspiration for creating the line that features pajama-like shirts, khaki anoraks and tailored suits. She also released her new Spring 2017 women’s collection at the event, which was, of course, attended by household names like Kate Moss and Twiggy with performances by D.M.C. of Run-D.M.C., Mike D from the Beastie Boys and the debut of ultra-cool Stella’s Supergroup, a five-member band fronted by Beth Ditto. The whole affair was an homage to music and fashion, and we’re certain the menswear collection will get as much hype as her womenswear line when it officially hits stores in January (available for pre-order today).
